My name is Rita, and I’m the former editor of three weekly newspapers dedicated to villages and towns located on the North Shore of Suffolk County in New York.
Before taking on the world of journalism full-time after a history of freelancing, I was a copywriter for a major retailer’s website. When the company moved its buying offices to New Jersey, I decided to stay on Long Island and found my way back to journalism, my college major.
I’m also a wife, step-mother, daughter, friend, cousin and a big fan of Ricky Martin and New Kids on the Block. Back in the day, I was a huge fan of the group Menudo, too, and I still try my best to show some moral support for the former members who still perform.
